Kyoto International Startup Center is a one-stop consultation desk that provides consistent support, from attracting foreigners who want to start a business in Kyoto Prefecture to obtaining a visa, starting a business, and establishing a stable business foundation.

JETRO, or the Japan External Trade Organization, is a government-related organization that works to promote mutual trade and investment between Japan and the rest of the world. JETRO Kyoto is taking a strong intitiative to strive development of support system for international entrepreneurs in many ways. This is the organization which controls Startup visa as well.

Startup Capital Kyoto is a digital information platform for international entrepreneurs in Kyoto which is run by JETRO Kyoto.

KIEC is an open community which regularly organises events for international entrepreneurs and founders to meet each other and exchange information in a casual and open fashion. Attendees usually include entrepreneurs (local and non-Japanese), representatives from institutions and organizations, students, and freelancers. Whether you are looking to know more about the startup scene in Kansai, considering partnerships with local businesses, hire new staff or just be inspired, KIEC may feature what you need.

Opened in April 2019, this center is an all-Kyoto official support window related to overseas businesses. We support and help overseas businesses (expansion of exports, etc.) of small and medium-sized enterprises/small businesses in the prefecture from the planning stage to commercialization to work overseas.
